A nose for trouble

> A solution is now within easy reach for those who have suffered for years with sinus issues, even children and teens

sprays where a survey found that up to 70% of patients have taken medications for their ‘sinus’ in the past four weeks.

Antihistamines in particular work by inhibiting histamines in the body, which give rise to itchy, irritating allergic symptoms.

However, antihistamines cannot stop the body from continually producing lots of histamines.

Nasal steroids on the other hand, inhibit the immune system from producing allergic symptoms in the nose.

While these medicines do help to inhibit symptoms, they are not able to influence the nature of a hypersensitive immune system, which explains why the problem keeps coming back, worsening with each recurrence.

The reality is many of those who suffer from sinusitis simply live with their condition, thinking that nothing else can be done. The advent of naturopathic science however, is proof that it is possible to regain a normal nose once again.

One option, Lectranal, is a natural, activated astragalus root extract formulated by scientists at the Ruder Boskovic Centre in Zagreb, Croatia.

Research published in the journal Phytotherapy Research demonstrated Lectranal’s ability to help improve the symptoms of sinusitis in a novel way.

Using the latest gene research technology, scientists were able to establish that Lectranal worked by modulating the tendency of hypersensitive immune systems back to a normal functioning mode.

In other words, immune systems influenced by Lectranal were being trained not to go out-of-control each time they encounter harmless allergens such as dust, pollen, foods, or temperature changes, but instead learn to cope as the average person would.

On top of that, Lectranal also imparts a memory to the immune system so that it is able to differentiate between harmful and harmless substances present in the environment, and not be easily provoked into a hypersensitive state as before.

The recommended dose is two capsules of Lectranal twice a day for the first month, before going on a dose of one capsule a day for subsequent months.

Clinical studies indicate that about 70% of patients experience a reduction in the frequency and severity of their symptoms.

More importantly, many patients report having a normal functioning nose again, one that is able to smell and breathe better.

Susan came across Lectranal when browsing online, and managed to find the product at her local pharmacy.

At her mother’s urging, Michelle duly took two capsules twice a day for about one month, before going on a dose of one capsule twice a day thereafter.

Three months after starting her treatment, Susan was delighted when her daughter woke up early, not to clear her nose in the bathroom as before, but to bake a marble cake for the family as she could now enjoy the smell of it all.
