The pressure from above

-

Classical Feng Shui IN FENG SHUI, if the sitting side of a house is supported by a hill, elevated land or a taller building, it is considered favourable.

However, if the hill, elevated land or building located at the back is very near and excessively tall, then it is not good.

Let’s say your house is a doublestorey building, and at the back and very close by is a 38-storey highrise condo.

From the Form School feng shui perspective, the people who live in such a house will likely experience extreme mental stress.

Those who are strong mentally may not suffer as much as those with weak mental strength.

But, like anything seen from the perspective of the Form School, all this takes time to develop.

So, you may not suffer much at all if you live in the house for only a short time.

In addition, for one to feel that kind of pressure, the height of the building at the back must be very high.

This means that having a four- or six-storey apartment block at the back of your house will not have much of a detrimental effect.

Also, such a building must be situated very near to your house. If it is separated by a wide road or recreational space, then its detrimental effect is likely to be minimal as well.

But what if the tall condo is on the left side of the facing of the house? Or on the right side?

The left hand side of the facing of a house is known as the Dragon side.

From a Form School perspective, an excessively strong Dragon (such as a very tall building on the left) will put pressure on the female members of the family.

And vice versa if the tall building is on the right side of the facing, also known as the Tiger side. Then, the pressure will be felt by the male members of the family.

In Malaysia, it is not often that we come across such a setup.

However, with the advent of highrise condos, crowded in a high demand neighbourhood, this is more common than you think. Facing

Let me illustrate. Let’s take two condominium blocks, each 28 storeys high and located side by side, very close to each other.

Now let’s say you live on the second level of block A and your Dragon or left side of your unit relative to the facing is block B.

If you look at it from a different angle, this is similar to living in a double-storey house with a tall building on your left!
