A new unique route

AirAsia announces flights from Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad four times weekly from April 29

-

AIRASIA recently announced a new unique direct route to the city of Ahmedabad from Kuala Lumpur with four times weekly flights commencing on April 29. These new services will support a vast market of 62 million people in the western Indian state of Gujarat, with promotional fares starting from RM199 one-way.

This follows the Indian government’s announcement late last year to reduce electronic tourist visa fees from US$100 (1-year multiple-entry tourist e-visa) to US$10 (30-days tourist e-visa for April to June; US$25 for July to March) for all eligible Malaysians, lowering the minimum visa cost by 90% for Malaysian tourists. AirAsia X Malaysia CEO Benyamin Ismail said: “India has never been more affordable, so there is no better time to travel. We are running some of our biggest sales yet to every Indian destination we fly, including this new route from Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad.

“At the same time, the cost for the tourist e-visa fee for Malaysians is currently at its lowest.”

Benyamin added: “We thank the Indian government for lowering the visa fees for Malaysians to facilitate tourism growth. India is a must-see destination on many people’s travel lists and we are confident that our latest promotional campaigns and extensive flight network will stimulate travel to India, and also entice more Indian travellers to visit Malaysia in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020.”

All-inclusive member fares from Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad are now available for booking on airasia.com from RM199 one-way for standard seats and RM899 one-way for the award-winning Premium Flatbeds. This promotion will run until Feb 16 for travel between April 29 to Oct 30.

The city of Ahmedabad is endowed with a rich architectural heritage, which is why this walled city founded in the 15th century was also India’s first city to be declared as a Unesco World Heritage City in 2017.

Visitors can travel back in time at the Bhadra Fort, marvel at the magnificent Adalaj Stepwell, find peace at Hutheesing Jain Temple and pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Sabarmati Ashram, where he stayed for over 12 years. With its rich culture and majestic buildings, visitors will be surprised by what Ahmedabad has to offer.
