China enquiries bode well for glove-dipping lines firm HLT

-

PETALING JAYA: Glove-dipping lines manufacturer HLT Global Bhd said the group has seen an uptick in enquiries from China since the extended closure of factories there following the Covid-19 outbreak. The enquiries are expected to translate into orders in early March.

“We are seeing a positive sign with various new enquiries in different stages from China,“said group director Chan Yoke Chin at a press conference following its patent licence agreement with AF Solution Sdn Bhd and the inventor.

The patent agreement grants HLT the exclusive rights to market and use the triple former holder assembly technology.

The commercialisation process is expected to take six to 12 months and will be introduced simultaneously in Malaysia and its overseas markets.

Chan revealed that some glove manufacturers have already expressed interest interest in the technology but it has to wait for the commercialisation process to be concluded before it can promote the assembly.

The technology is expected to increase production output by 30-50% while lowering operational cost and capital expenditure by 2030%.

The director explained that the lower capital expenditure is due to the fact that the assembly is compatible with the existing double holder assembly that is prevalent among most of the glove manufacturer’s production lines.

“An upgrade from double to triple former glove-dipping line would save the manufacturers from incurring substantial capital expenditure costs such as purchase of land and construction cost,” she said.

Currently, the group’s glove manufacturing facility in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan has a total of 16 production lines with a total production capacity of 1.1 billion pieces of gloves per annum and that it will run a prototype of the technology in the factory. – BY AMIR IMRAN HUSAIN SAFRI
