-

PETALING JAYA: Pasukhas Group Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Pasukhas Products Sdn Bhd, has entered into an agreement with concession licence holder BB Energy Sdn Bhd for the extraction, sale and distribution of river sand for export.

Under the agreement, BB Energy, which has been granted a concession/temporary occupational licence at Sungai Miang, Pekan, by Pengurusan Pasir Pahang Bhd (PPPB) has appointed the group and granted it the exclusive rights for the extraction, sale and distribution of river sand.

The contract is for 12 months with an option to extend by 12 months with a monthly production of at least 200,000 cubic metres.

Subsequently, Polo Specialist Trading Sdn

Bhd will be the authorised approved permit holder appointed by PPPB for the export of the sand under the agreement.

Pasukhas’ executive director, Mak Siew Wai, said that it expects the sand mining to begin in March next year due to the implementation of the recovery movement control order and the start of the monsoon season in the east coast.

“This development represents a significant milestone in Pasukhas’s plan to potentially forge another revenue stream for the group, to fuel growth and expansion going forward,” he said in a press release.

With this business, it expects to supply roughly 2.5 million cubic metres of river sand annually to potential buyers in China and Hong Kong which have yet to be identified.
