MINSINGILO BOROS KADAZANDUSUN APASI BOROS, APASI TINARU

- BOROS

Kadazandusun (BKD) atampasi nung boroson do sanganu do tikid tadau om miampai do aiso kotingkadan. Boros Malaya nga miagal nogi di o nakapasi.

Boros di au gunoon nopo nga opunso. Boros tina (mother tongue) nopo nga apatut do boroson do sanganu do tikid tadau id pibarasan, pirumaan, podsindingan, pinggasaan, pitimbungakan, pibatasan piangayan, kapanahakan do boboroson om ogumu po kaantakan om kopomogunaan suai.

Tulun topurak nga nokoboros do “Language is spoken” ka ii kirati do aiso guno boros nung au no boroson.

Tulun Malaya no ii poingalib atalang ologod pokimamaan do manampasi boros tinaru tu boroson diolo do poingkaa: “Boros rusod do tinaru” ka. Rati dilo nopo nga nung yadaan o boros tina, yadaan nogi o tinaru.

Pokimamaan do tulun Malaya mibagal dilo apatut do usuyanan do tulun KD. Nung au tulun KD mamasi boros tinaru, atagak o boros KD om nung aiso boros, nunu podi rati tinaru? Id sumusuhut diti nopo nga pinibarasan di Rina om ii Japeus di wawaagu montok do kaantakan tagayo montok koposion tinaru KD id pomogunan diti.

Nulud di Tatakbarambang

Rina (naamot mambasa iso surat naangayan pogun): Momomonsoi form ponuangan mokianu karaja om tusin kakaal posuraton do “Susuai” ka montok tulun tokou. Nunu topurimanan nu oi Japeus kabasa miagal diti?

(Application Form-designers still like to categorize our people as “Others.” What do you feel about it, Japeus?

Japeus (suminirot di Rina talaid): Nunu kapaganan dino basaan nu?

What is the problem in what you read?

Rina: Tulun tokou roitan kasari dilo tinaru tangagayo do “Susuai” ka.

Our people are still categorized by the bigger races as “Others.”

Japeus: Mantad no do okuudi gia tulun tokou nung poiradon ginumu dilo tinaru tangagayo.

It is because our quantity is very small as compared to the bigger races.

Rina: Okon ko ginumu ii agayo guno nga sinonong do tulun.

It is not quantity that counts but the quality of the people.

Japeus: Otopot nga nunu sinonong haro id tulun tokou?

That is true but what is the good quality of our people?

Rina: Tulun tokou mamamasok sandad pogun diti.

We are the native people of this State.

Japeus: Otopot kopio nga au pusohon dilo tinaru tangagayo do tulun tokou mamamasok.

True indeed but this aspect is ignored by the bigger races.

Rina: Okon ko miagal diri dogo tosorou.

I do not think so.

Japeus: Au milo onuan ngaran tinaru tokou do “KD” ka id form toi ko ponuangan mogium karaja tu oindamaan ogumu ngaran tinaru KD tongokoodo id pogun diti. It cannot be named “KD” in the Application Form due to the existence of numerous small KD ethnics in this State.

Rina: Pokituridangan tokou porinta maya tulun pulitik KD tangapantang do posuraton o ngaran tinaru “KD” montok tulun mamamasok sandad id nunu nopo ponuangan id bank toi ko id nunu nopo koporijistaan porinta om poingampai nogi sikulan.

We ask the government through our politicians to write the ethnic names “KD” for native people in every Application Form be it in the banks or on any government’s Registration Forms including the schools.

Japeus: Okon ko au o porinta monuhu poposurat miagal dilo nga tulun tokou sondiri i ibasug au minokianu, om mamaso monuang Form dilo, pakadaada do au mokianu miagal do buhangkut.

It is not that the government id not allowing it to be written in that way but it is our own foolishness not to ask for it.

Rina: Nga baino id surat naangayan diti basaan ku puru pulitik tokou nokopuriman nodi do kaantakan diti montok onuan pomusarahan tulun tangapantang porinta. But today through this newspaper I am reading there are a few of our politicians who raised this issue for the attention of the relevant authorities.

Japeus: Alansan daa do au po notunggal ii pokimamaan diolo.

Hopefully, their determination is not too late.

Rina: Nunu komoyon nu do notunggal?

What do you mean by too late?

Japeus: Tulun tokou aiso milo mangan dilo puru pulitik tokou do monompuru nga okon nogi gumumu ngaran parti pulitik turidongon diolo. Rati dilo nopo nga tumias o tulun tokou. Poingkuro tokou tulun mamamasok milo monuridong do iso ngaran tinaru tagaras id pogun diti i rumantai dilo tinaru tangagayo miagal ko Sina, India om Malaya?

Rina: Kada kito po pouruai paralom pomusarahan. Sabaagi laang koptimpuunon, bagal no monurat kito noopo id surat naangayan kinoyonon do momoguno boros tina mooi do abasa toinsanan tulun tokou om kopuriman yolo tonsi diti pibarasan kito.

We do not need to think too intellectually here. As our first step, we only need to write our ideas in the local newspaper through our mother tongue so that all of our people can read and understand our ideas.

Japeus: Heheheee. Kada kouruai do alansan. Tulun tokou kogumuan mogiigiyon id kampung om aiso poontokon diolo do momoli om kaanu surat naangayan do basaan om diolo id labus kakadayan, om nogi, kogumuan nogi tulun tokou mogiigiyon id kakadayan do gobulan toi ko au arahi mambasa. Kada koiman-iman nung au abasa nunu ii posuraton kito id surat naangayan dino.

Heheheee. Do not be too optimistic. Our people are mostly living in villages and they have no desire to buy and own a newspaper to be read in the rural areas, and moreover, our people who live in the city also are lazy or uninterested to read. Do not be disappointed to see if our people are not reading our articles.

Rina: Boros nu miagal dino nga au nogi oinsanan otopot. Ka disai do au mambasa tulun tokou id labus kakadayan? Songulun tamanon ku nokopinsin nga mambasa surat abar Borneo Post tikid tadau. Tanak dau poingkaraja porinta mogowit muli surat abar dino mantad kakadayan.

What you say is not that all true. Who says our people in the rural areas do not read newspapers? One of my uncles is a pensioner but he reads the Borneo Post every day. His son who works in a government’s office brings home the newspaper for him. Japeus: Oh! Isio no tosonong kopio sumiliu omitanan do tulun tokou id labus kakadayan. Apatut surat abar binoli dau dino pabasaan dau toinsanan puru paganakan om nogi tobpinai.

Oh! He can be the model reader for our people in that village. That newspaper that he is subscribing should be read by all his family members and his relatives too. Rina: Otopot. Suhuon ku isio momonsoi miagal di.

I will ask him to do so.

Japeus: Osonong ino. Mangan no kopio.

That is good. Really do it.
