Kids European Climate Action Days 2016image competition
The global climate is changing. However, every citizen, whether old or young, can do something to protect the climate.
The Embassies of France, the Netherlands, Germany and the European Commission Representation in Malta have joined forces to launch an image competition for children on the occasion of the European Climate Action Days 2016.
The project’s goal is to create awareness amongst children about climate change and its effects and to give them the opportunity to express their views via artistic means.
“The conclusion of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change was a major success. Although the foundation for a new approach on climate change has been set up, there is still a lot to do. It is the future of the children which will be affected the most and therefore we have to raise awareness and engage them as early as possible,” the Ambassadors of France, the Netherlands and Germany and the Head of the EC Representation emphasized.
On the topic ‘What can I/we do to Save the Climate’ all students attending Primary Schools in Malta (aged six-11 years) are invited to participate with their original photos, drawings or other mixed media. Entries should be images of projects and/or actions that the student or groups of people do or can do to save the climate. Thereby the children can choose to work on their own or submit their work as a group effort. The best images will be displayed in an exhibition and prizes for the best entries will be given.
