Qormi beat Marsa in dramatic comeback

Qormi staged a dramatic comeback in stoppage to beat Marsa 3-2 in a relegation clash bewteen two teams still in search of their first points.
Marsa were the better team in the first half and built a two-goal cushion, and looked set for victory as they were still 2-1 in front in the 90 th minute.
But Qormi had other ideas as they scored two goals in stoppage time to leave Marsa poitless at the bottom of the table.
The inclusion of Noah Ojuola in the early stages of the second half was instrumental in Qormi’s recovery.
Marsa were the better team in the first half and after only ten minutes they went close with a Chris Cutajar effort that was well saved by Balzan.
On 27 minutes Marsa took a deserved lead when Luis Andre De Melo beat Balzan with a precise grounder. Qormi failed to react and Marsa added another one four minutes later when Osmane Sidibe lost possession of the ball and Chris Cutajar drilled the ball home.
On the hour Qormi were back in business when the same Ojuola scored from close range following a Michael Camilleri cross.
Qormi continued to attack, but Marsa had some good scoring opportunities with their fast breaks. The Redblues looked set for their first victory as they held on to their slender lead till the 90th minute.
In the first minute of stoppage time Qormi drew level when Ojuola passed to the unmarked Tensior Guzman who slotted home from close range. Sixty seconds later Qormi obtained a dramatic winner when Carmelo Farrugia scored a beauty with a shot on the turn from the edge of the area.
