A pos­i­tive re­ac­tion gives Italy a point against Spain

A penalty by Daniele De Rossi ten min­utes from time gave Italy an im­por­tant 1-1 draw against Spain. Spain were de­ter­mined ro re­cover their exit against the Ital­ians in the Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships and dom­i­nated the play in the first half. They even took the lead on the 55th when Vi­tolo took ad­van­tage of an in­de­ci­sion by Buf­fon and scored in an empty net. Italy made a good re­ac­tion af­ter the goal, they started to in­crease their rhythm and equalised on the 82nd minute as Eder was fouled by Ser­gio Ramos with Ger­man ref­eree Felix Brych con­sult­ing the as­sis­tant ref­eree be­fore giv­ing the penalty. Daniele De Rossi beat De Gea with a low shot. Al­ba­nia are the only team from the three groups that are cur­rently with max­i­mum points as they beat Liecht­en­stein 2-0. An own-goal byPeter Jehle put Gio­vanni De Bi­asi’s in front an Bekim Balaj dou­bled on the 71st minute. Af­ter the de­feat against Italy, Is­rael won their first group game with a 2-1 win against Mace­do­nia. Af­ter fin­ish­ing draw in their open­ing match, Croa­tia won their first match 6-0 against Kosovo away from home. The pro­tag­o­nist for the Croa­t­ian team was Ju­ven­tus striker Mario Mandzu­kic who scored a hat­trick till the 35 minute. Matej Mitro­vic made them four on the 68th minute, Ivan Perisic added an­other goal on the 85th minute, and Nikola Kalinic closed the game with the sixth goal on the 90th minute. Ukraine are still search­ing for their first vic­tory as threw awaya two goal lead. An­driy Shevchenko’s team fired a quick dou­ble in the mid­dle of the first half as they scored two goals in three min­utes by An­driy Yar­molenko and Artem Kravets. But Ozan Tu­fan red­cued the gap just be­fore the break to keep his team in the game. Hakan Cal­hanoglu equalised on the 81st minute. Two goals in the stop­page time gave Ice­land a dra­matic win as they beat Fin­land 3-2. Teemu Pukki opened the score for Fin­land on the 21st minute but Kari Ar­na­son equalised on the 37th minute, un­til Robin Lod re­gained the lead two min­utes later.
