MAPFRE Mid­dle­sea to give €1 do­na­tion to Pink Oc­to­ber for ev­ery pol­icy pur­chased

For the sec­ond con­sec­u­tive year, MAPFRE Mid­dle­sea will be sup­port­ing the Pink Oc­to­ber Malta cam­paign. Dur­ing Oc­to­ber 2016, the insurance com­pany will be do­nat­ing €1 for ev­ery new pol­icy that is pur­chased.

MAPFRE Mid­dle­sea of­fers a wide range of insurance cov­ers for both in­di­vid­u­als and busi­nesses, there­fore it is ex­pected that a gen­er­ous do­na­tion will be col­lected by the end of the month. The do­na­tion will be con­trib­uted for all new poli­cies pur­chased through all chan­nels – agents, bro­kers and tied in­ter­me­di­aries.

“We truly be­lieve in the im­por­tance of the Pink Oc­to­ber Malta. Aware­ness is cru­cial to en­sure high sur­vival rates for pa­tients di­ag­nosed with breast can­cer. We are happy to join other com­pa­nies in giv­ing our con­tri­bu­tion to­wards this project,” Ana Zam­mit Munro, Mar­ket­ing Man­ager Mid­dle­sea said.

Dur­ing this month, the com­pany will also sup­port the cam­paign by dis­sem­i­nat­ing in­for­ma­tion re­lated to breast can­cer aware­ness through their var­i­ous plat­forms.

Breast Can­cer is the most com­mon form of can­cer in women in Malta, with one in ev­ery eight women ex­pected to suf­fer from the dis­ease through her life. How­ever, the sur­vival rate is much higher when can­cer is di­ag­nosed in its early stages. at MAPFRE Breast can­cer screen­ing is an ef­fort to de­tect can­cer even be­fore there are any symp­toms.

Pink Oc­to­ber Malta is co­or­di­nated by JPA in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Min­istry of Health, the Marigold Foun­da­tion and the two main Breast Can­cer Aware­ness or­gan­i­sa­tions in Malta, The Ac­tion for Breast Can­cer Foun­da­tion and Europa Donna. The Pink Oc­to­ber 2016 cam­paign aims to raise €90,000 to be used for pur­chas­ing of med­i­cal machin­ery for breast can­cer treat­ment.
