Is­land Car Club rocks Mtahleb

Is­land Car Club's first round of 2016/17 Cham­pi­onship kicked off last Sun­day at one of the favourite Hills, Mtahleb.

The road sur­face was as good as it pos­si­bly could be and all 46 com­peti­tors flew up the hill in the least pos­si­ble time. The over­all win­ner was 2012 cham­pion Zach Zam­mit in his new Ur­ban Jun­gle Em­pire Evo clock­ing an im­pres­sive time of 57.098 fol­lowed closely by 2014/15 cham­pion Keith Camil­leri in his Fracht Malta Rad­i­cal Pro sport clock­ing an equally im­pres­sive 57.188 and 3rd over­all win­ner was 2013 cham­pion Mark Mi­callef in his Avon Malta Rad­i­cal Pro Sport hit­ting the clock at 57.234.

Fastest 4wd went to An­drew Cas­sar in his mon­strous At­trans Toy­ota Cel­ica GT4 hit­ting the clock at 64.839. Fastest fwd went to no stranger to the ti­tle Didier Bugeja in his freshly re en­gi­neered Snow White Meat Mar­ket Peu­geot 106 stop­ping the clock at 65.352. Fastest rwd went to John Zam­mit in his Rush Sports Audi Pow­ered Lo­tus Elise clock­ing 63.145 in the process. Teddy Aquilina took the hon­ours for fastest vet­eran, driv­ing his Im­mac­u­late Cos­worth pow­ered Es­cort to the fin­ish line in 66.705

Is­land Car club’s round 2 Hill­climb will take place at lovely Xaghra, Gozo on 23 Oc­to­ber.

Is­land Car Club thanked its Mar­shals and Helpers for their work and last but not least the Ra­bat Lo­cal Coun­cil and Mayor Charles Az­zopardi for their con­tin­u­ous sup­port to­gether with CPD and Am­bu­lance crew and nu­mer­ous pho­tog­ra­phers.
