Teatru Manoel’s educational programme Toi Toi returns for another year
Toi Toi, the Teatru Manoel Education Programme conceived and spearheaded by Arts Education Consultant Rosetta Debattista, is now in its sixth year with an exciting programme planned for the 2016-2017 season.
With events spanning music, opera, drama, and dance, and performances in English and Maltese, the programme is aimed at audiences of all ages, with its focus on the very young, the very old and everyone else in between.
This year will see the introduction of new items including Toi Toi Jazz for Kids, and Flamenco; while Teatru Manoel Youth Theatre and Teatru Manoel Youth Opera continue to build on their successes of years past.
Toi Toi will also be present in various national festivals, with a number of ancillary events including treasure hunts held in the theatre, workshops, and talks enhancing the entertainment and educational aspect of the programme.
This year Toi Toi is also addressing schools around Malta with more than 50 performances aimed at schools and held at the theatre as well as curriculum-based interactive events that will be held within the schools themselves.
“It is a privilege to work with a team that is committed to the mission of bringing the arts to society at large,” says Debattista. “We welcome you to the 2016-17 Toi Toi season of events.”
