Ze­j­tun drop first points of sea­son against Mgarr

In a pul­sat­ing match at the Sirens Sta­dium, Ze­j­tun Corinthi­ans dropped their first points of the sea­son when they drew 2-2 with Mgarr United.

Kumpei Tanaka gave Ze­j­tun the lead after 18 min­utes but Mgarr struck back on 67 min­utes through Matthew Agius and on 70 min­utes with Lazar Doric.

An­thony Ewu­run fi­nally equalised for Ze­j­tun on 79 min­utes.

San Gwann moved to third place when they beat Zab­bar St Patrick by a soli­tary goal scored by Wil­liams Abeed from the penalty spot on 58 min­utes.

Marsaxlokk re­turned to win­ning ways when they eas­ily beat Gudja United by three goals to nil. Ser­gio Hili scored a brace on 31 and 90 min­utes with the other goal com­ing from Mar­lon Grech on 89 min­utes.

Sig­giewi beat St Ge­orge’s by two goals to one in the sec­ond match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium. Ja­son Camil­leri put Sig­giewi ahead on 9 min­utes with Di­dier Sohna dou­bling on 64 min­utes. Aaron Hili pulled one back for St Ge­orge’s but it was not enough to gain any­thing from the en­counter.

At­tard slumped to an­other de­feat when they went down to a Les­ley Cas­sar Jack­son goal against Birzeb­buga in the first match at the Luxol Sta­dium.

Qrendi ad­vanced to joint first when they ham­mered Ghaxaq 6-0 in the sec­ond match at the Sirens Sta­dium. The goals came through a hat trick by Gio­vanni Galea, a brace from Dasser Sam­mut and an­other strike by Dhonatan San­tos da Hora.

In the Fri­day night match, Swieqi United beat Mel­lieha by three goals to nil. Patrick Briscoe White scored a brace on 3 and 95 min­utes, the lat­ter from the penalty spot with Ken­neth Ezekie scor­ing the other on 74 min­utes.
