Labour women praise bud­get

Labour Women (NL) Pres­i­dent Claudette Abela Bal­dacchino said that the bud­get is one that looks to­wards those strug­gling, of­fer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties to im­prove their qual­ity of life.

NL called for the quick in­tro­duc­tion of mea­sures for par­ents be­ing able to use up sick leave to take care of their chil­dren and for some form of ini­tia­tive to ban smok­ing in a car when chil­dren are in­side, also prais­ing gov­ern­ment for ini­tia­tives that al­lows leave for those re­ceiv­ing can­cer treat­ment.

They also said that so­cial mea­sures in the ar­eas re­lat­ing to pen­sions, dis­abil­ity and oth­ers will con­tinue to strengthen fam­i­lies, as well as the sit­u­a­tion for women.
