Bud­get de­bate sched­ule ap­proved

Par­lia­ment yes­ter­day ap­proved the sched­ule of sit­tings to de­bate the Bud­get votes.

Op­po­si­tion leader Si­mon Busut­til will re­ply to the Bud­get speech on Mon­day at 6.30pm, while Prime Min­is­ter Joseph Mus­cat will an­swer on Tues­day at 6.30pm.

Af­ter that, Par­lia­ment will meet three times a day: at 9 am, 2pm and 6pm for de­bates on the in­di­vid­ual min­istry’s bud­getary al­lot­ments.

As per re­cent prac­tice, vot­ing on the in­di­vid­ual min­is­te­rial al­lot­ments will be held af­ter the Euro­pean Union ap­proves the Mal­tese bud­get, and sug­gests and pos­si­ble tweaks.

The sched­ule will run as fol­lows:

Trans­port and The Tourism; In­fra­struc­ture and Fam­ily and So­cial Se­cu­rity Min­istries

The Health, Home Af­fairs and Na­tional Se­cu­rity, and For­eign Af­fairs Min­istries

the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter, and the Ed­u­ca­tion and Em­ploy­ment Min­istries

the Jus­tice, Cul­ture and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment, Gozo, and the So­cial Dia­logue, Con­sumer Af­fairs and Civil Lib­er­ties Min­istries

the Sus­tain­able Devel­op­ment, En­vi­ron­ment and Cli­mate Change, the Econ­omy, In­vest­ment and Small En­ter­prises and Com­pet­i­tive­ness and Dig­i­tal Econ­omy, Mar­itime and Ser­vices Econ­omy Min­istries

the Euro­pean Af­fairs and Elec­toral Man­i­festo, and Fi­nance Min­istries.
