Budget debate schedule approved
Parliament yesterday approved the schedule of sittings to debate the Budget votes.
Opposition leader Simon Busuttil will reply to the Budget speech on Monday at 6.30pm, while Prime Minister Joseph Muscat will answer on Tuesday at 6.30pm.
After that, Parliament will meet three times a day: at 9 am, 2pm and 6pm for debates on the individual ministry’s budgetary allotments.
As per recent practice, voting on the individual ministerial allotments will be held after the European Union approves the Maltese budget, and suggests and possible tweaks.
The schedule will run as follows:
Transport and The Tourism; Infrastructure and Family and Social Security Ministries
The Health, Home Affairs and National Security, and Foreign Affairs Ministries
the Office of the Prime Minister, and the Education and Employment Ministries
the Justice, Culture and Local Government, Gozo, and the Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties Ministries
the Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Change, the Economy, Investment and Small Enterprises and Competitiveness and Digital Economy, Maritime and Services Economy Ministries
the European Affairs and Electoral Manifesto, and Finance Ministries.
