Pogba shines in Man. United win

-

French midfielder Paul Pogba was one of the positive highlights from yesterday’s matches in the UEFA Europa League as he helped Manchester United claim a comfortable 4-1 win against Fenerbahce. Pogba opened the score on the 31st minute from the penalty spot and Anthony Martial doubled the score three minutes later also from penalty. But Pogba scored his fifth european goal just before half time as he shot in his left top corner after an assist by Lingaard. Then, three minutes into the second half, the English winger scored the fourth goal with a powerful low shot. The Turkish side reduced the margin on the 83rd minute with a goal from their ex-player Robin van Persie, who was given a brilliant welcome back by the Man. United supporters, even after the game. After two defeats, Inter won their first match of the group when they defeated the other English side Southampton 1-0. The goal that decided the match came after a powerful left foot shot by Antonio Candreva on the 67th minute. Southampton upped their efforts especially after Marcelo Brozovic was sent off but couldn’t score after two brilliant saves by Samir Handanovic. Roma threw away a 3-1 lead, as they finished 3-3 at home against Austria Wien. The Italian side had to recover from an early goal but a brace on the 19th and 34th minute by Stephan El Sharaawy turned the tables. Alessandro Florenzi made the score 3-1 on the 69th minute but the Austrian side scored two goals in three minutes by Prokop and Kayode on the 82nd and 84th minute respectively. Fiorentina made another step towards confirming qualification when they defeated Slovan Liberec 3-1 away. Nikola Kalinic scored two goals in the first half but Sevcik reduced the gap on the 58th minute, until Khouma Babacar closed the game on the 70th minute with the third goal.
