German diver dies after Marsalforn dive

A 48-year-old German who found herself in difficulty while diving was pronounced dead yesterday at Gozo General Hospital.

The incident took place at around 11am, when she was diving with a group offshore to Marsalforn, Gozo.

A medical team, the police, the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department were called to the scene, but she was unfortunately pronounced dead at hospital.

The Victoria police are currently investigating the case.

It is the second death of a diver this week. On Wednesday, a man from Paola lost his life while diving at Dwejra.
