Alleanza Bidla asks for Minister George Vella’s resignation

-

Alleanza Bidla said in a statement it strongly condemns the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ latest official statement that Malta will not be offering bunkering facilities to the Russian ship when only this week it announce in parliament that it offers such services to the French in our airport.

Ivan Grech Mintoff states: “Russian officials have confirmed to us today that Russia never asked for such a service in the first place for this particular ship. Why Vella would therefore come out with such an unnecessary statement is simply incomprehensible and stupid.

“This huge diplomatic gaffe is the latest amongst many that this government keeps making in the foreign affairs field. It is still refusing to formally accept the real Libyan charge’ d’affaires.

“It is still mishandling of the Libyan visa scandal very badly and is now turning of Malta into a spy hub.

“Malta has become the new Casablanca. It seems to be this government’s full intention to simply ignore and break national and international law and established diplomatic policy.

“It is removing the foreign policies that have served Malta so well for decades and now adhering to pure Clinton-based policies instead.

“This is most harmful to Malta’s international image as well as very harmful to our own security and stability.

“Once again Alleanza Bidla asks for Vella’s immediate resignation. He seems to be blindly following someone else’s policies and instructions and not ours.

“Russia has always been a good ally of Malta and we should never forget that. We should be working actively for solutions rather than be used to create them ourselves by simply towing the clear, pro-Clinton line. ”
