Rabat push Marsa in further trouble

-

Rabat Ajax beat Marsa with a second half goal from substitute Wayne Borg to inflict the fifth defeat this season of newly promoted Marsa.

The Redblues are surely finding the going hard and their position is becoming desperate at the bottom of the table evn though we are in such an early stage of the season.

To be fair Marsa did not deserve to lose yesterday’s match, but they had nothing to show at the end of the ninety minutes, with Rabat grabbing their victory on the trot.

The first half was a balanced affair with both sides going close to taking the lead on a couple of occassions.

On the resumption Marsa had more of the ball and even the best scoring chances through Omeruo, but were dealt the killer blow on 72 minutes.

Substitute Wayne Borg ran free in a fast break and slotted the ball past Marsa goalkeeper Mifsud to break the deadlock.

As was expected Marsa threw everything in attack in the remaining minutes but failed to save the match.
