The eastern segment of the Victoria Lines
The next Din l-Art Ħelwa lecture is being held on 10 November, at 6.30pm in the Judge Caruana Curran Hall at Din l-Art Ħelwa’s premises, 133, Melita Street, Valletta.
It is entitled: ‘The Eastern Segment of the Victoria Lines’.
It will be delivered by two friends who are enthusiasts of Malta’s military history – Prof. Anthony Bonanno, archaeologist and Retired Judge Joseph Galea Debono whose interest in military lies at the root of their excursions around Malta in search of interesting military sites.
Together they have made a thorough survey of the whole length of the Victoria Lines and have been sharing their knowledge during talks at Din l-Art Ħelwa.
This time they will be showing images and describing the details of the Eastern segment of the Victoria Lines. They will focus on various features of archaeological and architectural interest, ranging from cart ruts, dolmens, Punic and PalaeoChristian tombs to more recent architectural features.
The talk will be delivered in English and is free of charge. However, donations to Din l-Art Ħelwa are appreciated.
