Al­most 30 of the top ICT com­pa­nies in Malta have taken part in this year’s ICT Stu­dents’ As­so­ci­a­tion In­dus­try Expo 2016. This event, which was held on Satur­day, 29th of Oc­to­ber was or­gan­ised for the third time and once again it served as an ex­cep­tional op­por­tu­nity to con­nect stu­dents with the ICT In­dus­try.

The ICTSA In­dus­try Expo was a ben­e­fi­cial event for both com­pa­nies and stu­dents. Stu­dents had the op­por­tu­nity to meet fu­ture em­ploy­ers and dis­cover pos­si­ble new ca­reer paths. They also had the chance to learn about dif­fer­ent op­tions and wide va­ri­ety of op­por­tu­ni­ties the in­dus­try has to of­fer. In this way, stu­dents were given more ex­po­sure to the in­dus­try, which can be fruit­ful when make their choice of the right en­vi­ron­ment they wish to pur­sue with their par­tic­u­lar skills.

At the same time, com­pa­nies were given an oc­ca­sion to meet with prospec­tive ICT pro­fes­sion­als who could well be the right em­ploy­ees for their re­spec­tive jobs. Local ICT com­pa­nies are rapidly ex­pand­ing, thus seek­ing to em­ploy tal­ented stu­dents who sat­isfy the demand for their ser­vices, as well as pro­vide them with fresh ideas. Un­for­tu­nately, the sup­ply is much less than their demand and there­fore oc­ca­sions like this can guide them to tar­get the right pro­fes­sion­als whom they will re­quire.

Every com­pany had the op­por­tu­nity to ex­plain to prospec­tive em­ploy­ees the prod­ucts they work on and what their client base con­sists of.
