This game not only pro­duced eight goals but also very at­trac­tive football by both sets of play­ers and the game was watched by a large crowd at Luxol Ground.

The early pres­sure was mounted by St An­drew. Russell Mi­callef pounced on a faulty clear­ance and Mosta keeper Daniel Grima saved his shot from out­side the area. Se­bas­tian Cas­sar Tor­re­giani drib­bled past an op­po­nent on the right flank and crossed the ball in the area to An­drea Galea and Grima saved his shot with a div­ing save.

In the 13th minute St An­drew opened the score when Jor­dan Kelly set Mat­tia Ve­selji through in the area and af­ter he was pushed the same player made no mis­take from the penalty spot by send­ing Grima the wrong way of the ball, and three min­utes later Mosta equalised as Mat­teo Vella was fouled on the left flank and af­ter the free kick by An­drew Camil­leri, Vella was tripped in the area and the same player made no mis­take from the spot by beat­ing keeper Se­bas­tian Spiteri with a low shot.

In an­other Mosta ac­tion Vella re­leased Gabrial Sant on the right flank and Spiteri neu­tralised the ball from his cross.

In the 28th minute St An­drew re­gained their slen­der lead when Kelly set Ve­selji through in the area and he scored with a hard low shot, and in the 31st minute the score be­came 3-1 as Ve­selji served An­drea’ Galea with a through ball in the area and he scored with a hard ris­ing shot.

A minute be­fore the break Mosta re­duced the gap from the penalty spot as Camil­leri put Vella through in the area and af­ter he was pushed he made no mis­take from the spot to make it 2-3.

Six min­utes af­ter restart Mosta equalised as Sant served Vella with a cross in the area and he scored with a header to make it 3-3, and hardly a minute later St An­drew scored a fourth goal as Russell Mi­callef drib­bled past an op­po­nent on the left flank and then served Ve­selji in the area who scored with a low drive.

The score be­came 5-3 in the 44th minute when Kelly drib­bled past an op­po­nent and then set Ve­selji throguh in the area and he scored with a hard low shot. St An­drew keeper Spiteri saved a hard drive from out­side the area by Azriel Borg and later he had to tip the ball over the bar fol­low­ing a ris­ing shot by Vella from the edge of the area af­ter an Ish­mael Galea through ball. In the last ac­tion be­fore the end by St An­drew Ve­selji served sub­stiute An­thony Mif­sud with a cross from the right flank and he drove slightly over the bar.
