Fut­sal sea­son starts on Fri­day

The sea­son will get un­der way on Fri­day with the fi­nal of the Su­per Cup be­tween cham­pi­ons Val­letta and the KO win­ners Luxol.

The match is to be played at the Cor­radino Pav­il­ion, start­ing at 8pm.

Fif­teen clubs, among them five new, will be tak­ing part in the cham­pi­onship which is to be held over two rounds.

At the end of the first round, the first five teams will qual­ify for the Elite round which leads to the play­offs. The rest of the teams will play in the first di­vi­sion round.

Cham­pi­ons Val­letta’s first com­mit­ment in de­fence of their ti­tle will be against Marsaskala. Swieqi FC’s Un­der 21 team is tak­ing part for the first time.

The as­so­ci­a­tion is now work­ing from its new of­fices in St Ven­era – space kindly of­fered by the firm Kon­ica Mi­nolta.

The as­so­ci­a­tion has also an­nounced the stag­ing of two in­ter­na­tional matches in prepa­ra­tion for the forth­com­ing UEFA Fut­sal Euro qual­i­fiers next Jan­uary.

The matches will be played on 5 and 6 De­cem­ber with the op­po­si­tion be­ing of­fered by San Marino.
