Three injured in separate accidents

• A five-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Qormi yesterday morning. The police said the accident took place at around 8.25am in Triq Correa, Qormi. The boy, who is from Qormi, was hit by a Daihatsu Sirion car that was being driven by a 32-year-old woman from Żebbuġ. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and the police were later informed that he had suffered serious injury.

• A woman was grievously injured after she was hit by a car in Tarxien Road, Paola, on Tuesday evening. The 84-year-old of Tarxien was hit by a car driven by a 36year-old woman, also of Tarxien. The elderly woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

• A 78-year-old man from Rabat is suffering from grievous injuries after he was hit by a car. The accident occurred at around 8:30am yesterday at the Salib area in Rabat. The man, who is from Rabat, was immediatel­y taken to Mater Dei hospital for medical assistance where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries. According to the police, the man was hit by a car, Peugeot, driven by a 28-year-old man from Sliema. Police investigat­ions in all three accidents are ongoing.
