Free blood glu­cose mon­i­tor­ing for the pub­lic

The Mal­tese Di­a­betes As­so­ci­a­tion re­cently of­fered free di­a­betes tests for the gen­eral pub­lic on the oc­ca­sion of World Di­a­betes Day, which is cel­e­brated around the world on 14 Novem­ber. The event was held at the Plaza Shop­ping Cen­tre in Sliema.

The gen­eral pub­lic re­sponded whole­heart­edly and hun­dreds availed them­selves of this of­fer to get tested for di­a­betes.

The event was also at­tended by Pres­i­dent Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, Dr Chris. Fearne, Min­is­ter for Health; Dr Si­mon Busut­til, Leader of the Opposition and Claudette But­tigieg, Shadow

Min­is­ter for Health. All dig­ni­taries sup­ported the event by tak­ing a di­a­betes test them­selves.

The event was or­gan­ised by the Mal­tese Di­a­betes As­so­ci­a­tion with the sup­port of the Di­a­betes & En­docrine Cen­tre at Mater Dei Hos­pi­tal, ATG Lim­ited, Gasan-Mamo In­sur­ance Lim­ited, Tech­no­line Lim­ited, Sanofi, No­var­tis, Novo Nordisk, Charles Dar­manin Lim­ited and Plaza Cen­tres plc.

A free give-away con­sist­ing of a healthy break­fast pack and other pro­mo­tional ma­te­rial was dis­trib­uted to all those who at­tended the event.
