Casa Apap Bologna employees get MCAST training in disability studies

All employees who will be working with persons with disability at the newly opened Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Services are currently following a course leading to an MCAST level 3 award in disability studies. The course is being organised jointly by the CareMalta Academy and MCAST.

The new academic year at the CareMalta Academy was recently inaugurate­d in the presence of students and lecturers as well as representa­tives from MCAST. More than 200 persons are expected to attend courses organised by the Academy ranging from disability studies to advanced healthcare as well as to dementia care.

Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Services located in Mosta will soon be offering respite services to persons with disability ranging

from a weekend to a longer period. Such a service will provide informal carers, normally parents, with an opportunit­y for a muchneeded break. Casa Apap Bologna – Respite Services, run by HILA, a new organisati­on within the CareMalta Group, provides all persons with disability benefittin­g from the respite services, with an opportunit­y to learn how to live independen­tly with the necessary support while socializin­g with others both within the home as well as within the community.
