Seeking growth beyond our borders
Bank of Valletta and PwC announced the 4th edition of the Family Business Forum, which addresses the internationalisation of family businesses in Malta. The event will take place at the Xara Lodge limits of Rabat on Thursday, 17 November.
‘Seeking growth beyond our borders’ is the theme chosen for this year’s edition. The event will focus on internationalisation prospects from the family business perspective, supported by interventions by experts from PwC and Bank of Valletta. Entrepreneurs from leading family businesses will also bring the players’ voices to the discussion table. The Forum will continue building knowledge while raising awareness about the sector’s realities. Previous editions have addressed other key concerns such as corporate governance, financial reporting, sustainable growth and professionalisation of family business.
Kevin Valenzia, PwC’s Territory Senior Partner will open the event, while Dr Chris Cardona, Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business will deliver the keynote speech. The PwC Family Business Survey 2016 will be presented by Michael Ganado, Advisory Partner at PwC, who will also be drawing comparisons between family businesses in Malta and their peers globally. Carmel Borg, Head Trade Finance at Bank of Valletta will be tapping into his 30 years’ experience in Trade Finance to discuss the avoidance and mitigation of risks associated with cross-border trade. Mario Mallia, the bank’s CEO, will close this year’s edition. A panel discussion featuring two leading family business owners, the Trade Malta CEO and a tax expert will address the subject from a practical approach.
