DI­VI­SION 1

Mosta HB A- Kalkara SJ 2-6 Game­week 4 saw two ti­tle con­tenders face each other in di­vi­sion one, with Kalkara St Joseph se­cur­ing the points with a 6-2 away vic­tory.

Af­ter two games the score was level with Kirsten Aquilina win­ning for the vis­i­tors and Al­bert Scerri for Mosta.

The next three games were cru­cial in deciding the out­come of this match with Kalkara win­ning all three which meant se­cur­ing a min­i­mum of a draw. Chris Co­hen and Andy Keen win­ning in the sin­gles and K.Aquilina/Stan­more in the dou­bles.

Brian Abela gave the home side a glim­mer of hope by re­duc­ing the score to 2-4, but a strong fin­ish by the vis­i­tors se­cured all points with wins com­ing from Stan­more and Keen/Ciantar in the dou­bles.

Next week will not fea­ture any na­tional league matches due to the Malta In­ter­na­tional Open sched­uled be­tween 15-17 Novem­ber, with matches re­turn­ing on 25 Novem­ber which in­cludes a mouth-wa­ter­ing clash be­tween Kalkara SJ and Flo­ri­ana Ajax A, two teams on max­i­mum points in the top di­vi­sion.

DI­VI­SION 2

Cospicua R-Ham­run EB A 7-1 In di­vi­sion two, Cospicua Rangers com­fort­ably de­feated Ham­run Ed­u­ca­tion Bar A in a top of the table clash. All square af­ter two games with Ant­nick Bugeja win­ning for the hosts and Mario Tonna for the vis­i­tors.

From that point on­wards, Rangers took con­trol and man­aged to win all the re­main­ing six games to se­cure all 3 points which meant that these two teams now still to­gether on top of the table with 9 points fol­lowed by Flo­ri­ana Ajax B on 8 points. T

he wins for Cospicua came from Martin De­bono, An­dre Zam­mit, Ge­orge Mizzi, Mel­chior Far­ru­gia in the sin­gles and Bugeja/De­bono and Mizzi/Far­ru­gia in the dou­bles.
