Football - Norway coach PerMathias Hogmo resigns from his post

-

The Norwegian soccer federation says coach Per-Mathias Hogmo will step down after three years in the job. With only three points from four matches in World Cup qualifying, Norway has little chance to qualify for the 2018 tournament in Russia. The Norwegians, who lost to the Czech Republic on Friday, beat San Marino 4-1 for their only victory so far in Group C. Germany leads the group with 12 points. Hogmo says he has “reached the point where the players and (the federation) weighed more.” Under him, Norway also failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 European Championship. It was unclear who would replace him.
