Exploring the Idea of a Post-Humanist University

Next Tuesday 29 November WIPSS will be collaborating on a Joint Symposium with Utopian Pasts - Utopian Futures? 500 Years after Thomas More's Utopia (1516), convened by the Departments of English, German and Philosophy.

This symposium is a follow-up to the WIPSS seminar of 31 May given by Prof. Ivan Callus entitled Control, Autopoiesis and the Idea of the Posthumanist University. His paper on that occasion attracted great interest, so we have decided to explore further his ideas in this follow-up symposium.

Ivan Callus (English) will summarize his May paper and offer some further thoughts. Paul Clough (Anthropological Sciences) will give his reaction to the May paper. James Corby (English) will respond with ideas of his own. Jean-Paul De Lucca (Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences) will chair the event.
