Vit­to­riosa con­tin­ued their surge for­ward in the ta­ble with an im­pres­sive vic­tory over a sorry Melita side. Vit­to­riosa were the bet­ter team hands down and could have even ob­tained a big­ger vic­tory as thgey con­firmed their good patch af­ter their im­por­tant vic­tory against Mqabba.

Vit­to­riosa forged ahead on 17 min­utes when Melita de­fender Michael Cachia headed past his own goal­keeper in an at­tempt to clear.

Five min­utes from the break Vit­to­riosa missed an­other good op­por­tu­nity when Ar­ber Dhrami passed to Leighton Grech who failed to con­nect. On 45 min­utes Vit­to­riosa were again un­lucky when in a fast break Leighton Grech drib­bled past Grima but his ef­fort hit the base of the up­right.

On the re­sump­tion Melita went close with a Cor­nago low drive that missed the base of the up­right but Vit­to­riosa sealed the is­sue with two quick goals scored by Leighton Grech and Liam Gauci on 56 and 58 min­utes.

The game was dead and buried, Vit­to­riosa were in full con­trol and Leighton Grech added a fourth half way through the sec­ond half. Six min­utes from time Melita were re­duced to ten play­ers when Kurt Pace was sent off for dis­sent.
