Qormi set sights on front runners
Qormi defeated Gharghur thanks to second half goal yesterday to obtain their fifth consecutive victory and set their sights on the front runners.
The frist half was scrappy but things improved a lot on the resumption with Qormi showing the better ideas.
The first half had little or nothing to offer with both sides rarely dangerous with the only scoring opportunity created by Qormi on 34 when Ojoula’s close range header brilliantly saved by Valletta.
Things improved in the second half with both sides showing more vivid spirit in their approach.
Qormi had the better chances and were unlucky on 55 minutes when an Ojuola shot was cleared off the goal line by Lee Galea.
Qormi scored what proved to be the winner on 65 minutes when Djamel Leeflang headed home a Brandon Grech well taken freekick.
