Football smartly from Emil Forsberg's pass to help coach Ralph Hasenhüttl's side stay top of the table for another week.
Werner was ruthlessly efficient in front of goal for Leipzig, scoring with his only two shots to quell Freiburg's hopes of taking anything from the game. The 20year-old's pace, movement and eye for goal were again decisive for the league leaders.
