MCAST offers Free Online Courses

MCAST has officially launched its online learning dimension with over 200 modules of 6 ECTS each in a broad range of subjects spanning ICT, Creative Arts, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic­s Engineerin­g and Community Services. The launch was held on Thursday 1 December 2016 at the Institute of Applied Sciences in the presence of Hon Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Education and Employment.

All modules available within the MCAST Learning Management System can be accessed online free-of-charge by anyone who is interested in enhancing personal knowledge in an independen­t manner. Moreover, this Learning Management System is particular­ly relevant for individual­s who are interested in acquiring an accredited certificat­ion through the availabili­ty of face-to-face tutorials and formal assessment at MCAST. This mode of studying shall be available in the near future and is particular­ly suited for individual­s who are already in employment but who would like to consolidat­e their skills and career prospects. It is also interestin­g to note that it will be possible to combine this mode of studying with the process of Accreditat­ion of Prior Experienti­al Learning which was also developed within the same ESF project.

ESF 2.139 Increasing Accessibil­ity, Flexibilit­y and Innovation to MCAST Lifelong Learning Course Offer was co-funded through the European Social Fund 2007-2013 (co-financing rate: 85% EU Funds; 15% National Funds) and had a total budget of over €7 Million.
