HSBC UK Contact Centre celebrates 10-year anniversary milestone in Malta
HSBC UK Contact Centre (UKCC) celebrated its 10-year anniversary throughout 2016, marking a decade of breaking new ground, job creation, and career opportunities in Malta.
The Contact Centre in Swatar was officially opened on 20 November 2006 by then Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi in the presence of former HSBC UK Chief Operating Officer David Budd.
When the first call from the UK was answered by a customer service agent in Malta, the target was to recruit a total of 250 employees. However, today it is home to 450 staff members whose reputation for excellence at work and service to the community has attracted some of the best minds on the islands to join its ranks.
“The HSBC UK Contact Centre has been successful from the beginning. To our knowledge, this is the largest contact centre on the island, with 450 people inhouse taking over a million inbound calls every year. Looking back over the years, the Malta centre has certainly proved itself and continues to go from strength to strength,” said Head of HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta Robert Vaughan.
As part of the 10-year anniversary celebrations, the HSBC UKCC gave special recognition to long serving employees and hosted off-site and on-site anniversary parties. The activity calendar also saw a variety of responsible events for the community which raised more than €15,000.
