Luxol shine in direct clash

Luxol prevailed in the top clash of the week of the Gatorade Futsal League after seeing off Hamrun Tre Angeli 4-0.

It was a commanding performanc­e by the St Andrews outfit who annihilate­d their opponents as they managed to score four goals.

Emil Andrei Raducu was inspiratio­nal for Luxol as he netted a brace while Carl Azzopardi and Zvezdan Vukovic added the tally for their team.

Valletta emulated their nearest rivals as they routed Safi San Lorenzo 14-4.

The champions dominated the match and had their prolific scorer Raphinha helping himself with six goals as Xavier Saliba netted a poker and Denis di Maio struck a hat-trick.

Dylan Musu also put his name on the score sheet for the Lilywhites who now face a difficult match against Hamrun.

Clive Calleja, Franklin Seisun, Sean Vella and Terrence Cachia scored Safi’s goals.

Swieqi had the better of Sliema Wanderers 11-1.

Nikola Farrugia’s boys dominated possession for long stretches and had their talisman player Boicho Marev in fine form as he struck a poker.

Jason Gauci netted a brace while Timothy Gingell, Andre Ciancio, Fredrick Johansson, Christian Wismayer and Redeemer Borg completed the score for Swieqi.

Paul Bugeja scored Sliema’s consolatio­n goal.

Eslam Khalifa was in fine form as he netted five goals to help Mriehel ESS register their second win on the run after they seeing off Swieqi U21 13-4.

Meanwhile Qrendi and Qormi registered their third victories of the season after seeing off Tarxien JMI 9-6 and Zurrieq Wolves 7-4 respective­ly.

On the other hand, University of Malta returned to winning ways after beating Marsascala Construct Furniture 7-4.
