Chris Borg appointed Indirect Tax Principal at Deloitte Malta
Deloitte has announced that Chris Borg has joined the firm in the position of Principal, with effect from 1 January. This represents a key appointment within Deloitte’s tax practice as Chris shall bring considerable experience and skills to the firm’s indirect tax team.
Chris previously held the position of managing director at Boston Multi Family Office, where he was responsible for all client, commercial, operational and regulatory matters of Boston Group in Malta. Prior to this, he led the provision of value added tax services at another of the Big 4 firms.
Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, sits on the Council of the Malta Institute of Taxation and is a lecturer and examiner in direct taxation and VAT. He is also a Member of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners and of the UK Institute of Directors.
As chairperson of MIT's indirect tax technical committee, he is Malta's alternate representative on the European Commission's VAT Expert Group and representative on the Indirect Taxes Sub-Committee of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne.
