Wirt iż-Żejtun photographic exhibition in Rome
On Wednesday, 1st February, a photographic exhibition entitled “The Southeast of Malta” was opened in the Atrium of the Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome by the Deputy Secretary General of FAO, Thomas Laurent and Malta’s Ambassador to Rome, Vanessa Frazier.
The exhibition, containing photos of the Southeast of Malta by Eng. Charles Mifsud, had been commissioned by Wirt iz-Zejtun and was part of the activities organised last year to commemorate the fifth year from the founding of the association.
Other speakers at the event were Sergio Passariello, Chairman of the Mediterranean Academy of Culture, Tourism and Trade, Matilde Ferraro from the cultural foundation “Paolo di Tarso”, and Eng. Charles Mifsud.
The exhibition, one of the activities being held during Malta’s Presidency of the European Union, has been set up on the initiative of the Maltese Embassy in Rome and is open to the general public April.
Following the AGM held on the 29th January, Wirt iz-Zejtun till the end of announces the election of the Executive Council for the period 2017-2019. Architect Ruben Abela has been re-elected Presi- dent, TraceyAnne Vella Cumbo is the Secretary, whilst Jesmond Cutajar is the association’s Treasurer. Marcelle Cannataci is the Public Relations Officer, Dr Joseph M. Buttigieg, Michael Aquilina, and Samuel Falzon are members.
