Ten-man Senglea too strong for Marsa

-

Marsa 0 Senglea A 3

Although playing for practically the whole match with a man less, Senglea were still good enough to beat a depleted and demotivated Marsa side by three clear goals.

The turning point of the match came after only four minutes when Senglea were reduced to ten men, but Marsa missed the resultant penalty and Senglea grew in composure and never looked back after taking the lead.

After only four minutes play Gilbert Martin was floored by Cesco Guzman who was also shown the red card, but Mark Gauci’s effort from the penalty spot was saved by the Senglea custodian. But on 15 minutes Senglea broke the deadlock when Cabral was fouled inside the area and from the penalty spot the same Cabral made no mistake.

Senglea continued to dictate matters and a Terrence Vella header slightly missed the upright, and just before the break Senglea doubled the score when Hubert Vella passed towards Juninho Cabral who rounded the goalkeeper before putting at the back of the net.

On the resumption Senglea continued to dictate matters and on 65 minutes put the game to bed with a third goal when Juninho Cabral passed towards Terence Vella who easily slotted home from close range.
