Championsh­ip race still wide open

In the MSV Life Masters Premier League, the championsh­ip title is still wide open after the recent results.

Mosta Shaggy lost two precious points when they could only manage a draw against Rabat Cavette. In their last game Mosta have to meet Wardija whom they have to beat if they want to win the title.

Wardija and Dingli, the present champions, are still chasing. If Wardija win against Mosta, and Dingli beat B’Kara, the title will be decided between Wardija and Dingli in their last game between them on Friday, 28 April. If Mosta win their game against Wardija the story will end there and Mosta will be declared champions for this season.

The Mosta Shaggy Pub v Rabat Cavette was a fast entertaini­ng game with both teams taking a deserved point in a 4-4 draw. Both teams had their chances, with both goalkeeper­s giving an excellent show.

Mosta scored first after just one minute and after a balanced period in the last ten minutes Rabat scored twice to go for the break leading 3-2. The three goals scored in th second half were in the first ten minutes. Rabat went in front 4-2, but Mosta reacted strongly and managed to salvage a point.

In the Coca Cola Division One league, after two wins, Jival failed to get the three points losing to Melita Celtics 7-5. Melita started well, but by time Jival came more into the picture going for the break losing only 2-3.

However, they lost all concentrat­ion and Melita had the chance to make sure when they scored three consecutiv­e goals.

In the other game from this league, Zurrieq Wolves surprised Valletta, winning 8-6. However, Zurrieq deserved their victory, playing a very good tactical game. On the other hand, Valletta lost the second consecutiv­e game.

The citizens tried their best to react, but Zurrieq’s defenders kept them out.
