MESA to organise 5km race at Mtarfa Bypass

After the success obtained on 18 April on the Kirkop/Safi circuit, the Malta Employees Sports Association (MESA) will be organising another 5 kilometre road race on 23 May on the Mtarfa ByPass.

The race, starting at 3pm, is open not only to employees from government departments and entities but also to employees from non-government firms and entities, as has been happening for quite some time now after MESA amended its statute to make it possible for more employees to participate in its activities.

An encouraging number of athletes took part in the race held in April on the Kirkop/Safi circuit, where Andrew Grech (Malta Police) and Gianella Bugeja (Transport Malta) were the overall winners in the male and female category respectively.

It is worth mentioning that only a few weeks earlier Andrew Grech obtained an excellent result in the Malta Marathon where he was the first Maltese athlete who completed the Marathon, finishing sixth overall.

A good number of athletes who took part in the 18 April race have already confirmed their participation in the 23 May race.
