First ever FIA Volunteers Day celebrated

-

The local motorsport ASN joined other ASNs and the FIA in celebrating the first ever FIA Volunteers Day recently.

The idea brought forward by the FIA is to celebrate the commitment and thanking the individuals who freely give up their time as volunteers at motor sport events.

The Malta Motorsport Federation organised a ceremony at a local venue attended by all the volunteers who accepted the invitation - without their services there will be no motorsport.

The Federation also handed out certificates to seven volunteers who successfully completed two courses each for the post of Motorsport Steward and Motorsport Clerk of The Course, followed by a pass by examination, held on 3 February 2017 at ACI Sport, Pomezia, Rome.

These volunteers are William England, Geoffrey Pulis, Adrian Figallo, Luke Bajona, Ruben Hili, George Muscat and Josef Abela.

These courses and exams have been coordinated by William England Vice President of the Malta Motorsport Federation.

During the ceremony, Tonio Cini, President of the Federation, announced that the Federation has secured more funds for similar courses in the near future.

The Motorsport Federation is encouraging all those who would like to make part of the local motorsport scene by volunteering in a way or another to go forward.
