Sovereign Military Order of Malta charity concert

The Maltese Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta is organising its seventh Orchestral Charity Concert at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta on Thursday 15 June at 19.30hrs, in celebration of the feast of St John the Baptist, Patron Saint of the Sovereign Order of Malta. It is grateful to the St John’s CoCathedral foundation for its gracious permission for the use of the Co-Cathedral for this annual event.

The concert will be performed by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Prof. Michael Laus, with the participation of Edward Camilleri & Alan Mulligan tenors, Miguel Rosales, bass-baritone, Loranne Debono, soprano & Maria Azzopardi, alto and the Goldberg Ensemble Choir. A reception will follow in the courtyard of the Grand Master’s Palace in Valletta. Her Imperial Highness Maria Vladimirovna, Grand Duchess of Russia, who is visiting Malta to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the birth of her Grandmother Victoria Melita, shall be the Association’s guest of honour.

Entrance to the concert and reception is strictly by invitation. Invitations may be obtained by applying to the Maltese Association, Sovereign Military Order of Malta at Casa Lanfreducci, Pjazza Jean de Valette, Valletta, from Mondays to Fridays between 11.00 and 16.00 hrs. The Maltese Association’s agenda, in keeping with the Order’s principles of Tuitio Fidei (Witnessing the Faith) and Obsequium Pauperum (Service to the Poor and the Sick), consists of various religious and hospitaller activities.
