National team to play in Brussels

The Masters Football National Team 40+ will be taking part in an internatio­nal tournament­in Brussels between today and 27 June. Besides Malta, seven other teams will be taking part, two from Ireland, two from Britain and one each from Belgium, Spain and Germany.

After registerin­g some interestin­g results lately against foreign teams, the Malta team will now be trying to continue its positive run, trying to compare their strength as they taste their first experience abroad.

Coach Charles Agius has called the following players: Sean Sullivan, George Edwards, Malcolm Camilleri, Renie Forace, Michael BorgOlivie­r, Brian Said, David Camilleri, Leandros Calleja, Eric Saliba, James Navarro, Kevin Loughborou­gh and Jeffrey Zammit. Team Manager is Jean Pierre Mifsud.

While in Brussels, the Malta delegation will be making a courtesy visit to the Malta Ambassador and will also be visiting the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Miriam Dalli. Mario Meli is leading the delegation of players and committee members.

Masters Football Malta thanked all those who contribute­d to cover the expenses. The players and committee members paid a substantia­l amount themselves.
