Oman – A new business hub for Maltese companies
The Sultanate of Oman, a growing and vibrant economy in the Gulf, has been opening its shores to joint business opportunities with Malta. A country with a strategically important position bridging the Middle East with land borders to UAE and Saudi and marine borders to Iran and Pakistan, it has been working to strengthen its business co-operation with Malta, who also enjoys strategic positioning in the Mediterranean.
Mohammed Al Balushi, an entrepreneur and investor, has been forging alliances with Jane Chircop, of Sapphire Real Estate to start creating joint business ventures between Malta and Oman. In fact Sapphire has already opened its first office in Muscat, the capital, earlier this year.
Their joint business interests include not only real estate but also tourism and sustainable development for the region.
Ms Chircop has been strongly advocating the opportunities available and in fact another Maltese company, iSmart Ltd that works in educational software, has also opened agency in the GCC thanks to her.
With the sanctions of Iran currently being lifted, now is the time to address the clear potential of the region. Oman is a bridge between East Africa and the Middle East, and Malta could find a powerful ally for fertile business and economic growth.
A business seminar is therefore being organized on Wednesday 12th July from 10am to 1pm at the Hilltop Village in Naxxar where Mr Al Balushi himself will explain more. Jane Chircop from Sapphire Real Estate and Angele Giuliano from iSmart will provide testimonials. The seminar will be also addressed by Dr Gavin Gulia, Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority.
