Mellieha Nights 2017 – 10th Edition

For the 10th consecutiv­e year, the Mellieha Local Council will be organising ‘Mellieha Nights’. This year ‘Mellieha Nights’ will be held between 21st and 23rd July and all activities will be held within the heart of the picturesqu­e locality of Mellieha.

‘Mellieha Nights’ will start off on the evening of Friday 21st July, as from 8pm onwards at Mellieha Main Square, with a fantastic line-up of the best Maltese DJs, namely Lio, JJoy and Ziggy who will surely turn the night into an amazing one full of great music.

Saturday 22nd July will see Mellieha main roads turned into pedestrian areas, where those who will be attending will have the opportunit­y to walk around while enjoying various musical shows and exhibition.

The stages along Triq Gorg Borg Olivier will offer traditiona­l folklore music by the Greenfield­s, Aurora Folk group and Maltese ‘Ghana’ and rock music by Kylie Coleiro and Klinsmann and the Planet Seed Band. Jazz music and choir singing will take place in Our Lady of Mellieha Sanctuary Courtyard and the Sanctuary itself.

Local artisans and artists will be creating wonderful handmade works in an open air atmosphere and a local high-end motor vehicles show amongst many other attraction­s will be going on throughout the night.

One can also opt for dining al fresco in one of Mellieha’s exquisite restaurant­s. An open-air barbecue will also be held at Mellieha Main Square and entertaini­ng the audience there will be Artemocion Dance Studio, Cash and Band and Maltese entertaine­r Joe Demicoli.

On Sunday 23rd July, live entertainm­ent will be provided at Mellieha Main Sqaure by Artemocion Dance Studio and Spiteri Lucas Band featuring amongst others Chiara, Debbie Scerri, J Anvil and Neville Refalo performing ‘A tribute to the Maltese Legends’.

Both on Saturday and Sunday children will have different spots where to entertain themselves and for those who still haven’t tasted what the locality of Mellieha can offer with regards heritage and culture, Mellieha’s main attraction­s like the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieha and Mellieha World War II Shelters will remain open until late in the night.

A ‘Park and Ride’ service will be provided from near the exBellevie­w Area towards the centre of the village on Saturday from 7.30pm onwards.
