MTA welcomes prestigious award for Cittadella Visitors’ Centre
The Malta Tourism Authority congratulated the Cittadella Visitors’ Centre in Victoria Gozo on winning a prestigious InstallAward during an event held in London last month.
The InstallAwards recognise excellence in the audiovisual industry across the globe, highlighting the best projects launched in the previous 12 months. The Cittadella Visitors’ Centre came first in the Visitor Attraction Projects category, beating finalists from the UK, Oslo and Dubai.
MTA CEO Paul Bugeja expressed the Authority’s satisfaction at the news of the success for this local attraction. “Victoria’s Citadel has always been one of the major places of interest on the island of Gozo. With the outstanding work carried out to restore and rehabilitate the fortifications, and with the creation of this world-class visitor centre, the Citadel has become even more of a must-visit attraction, for both tourists and locals. This award is a certificate of excellence for a job well done. It continues to motivate us to market and promote this unique, versatile venue for all types of events – from weddings to conferences, cultural to entertainment.”
The Cittadella Visitors’ Centre was developed for the Ministry for Gozo by Sarner Ltd, a leading company renowned for the design, building and installation of innovative experiences for brands, museums and theme parks. The project was co-funded by the EU.
