Fixtures for BOV GFA competitio­ns drawn

- BoV first division: BoV second division: BoV GFA Cup:

The fixtures for the BOV GFA Leagues and the BOV GFA Cup 2017-2018 were drawn during a press conference held at Bank of Valletta’s Head Office in St Venera yesterday morning.

The fixtures were drawn by Charles Azzopardi, Executive PR & Marketing at Bank of Valletta and Dr Samuel Azzopardi, President of the Gozo Football Associatio­n.

“The relationsh­ip between Bank of Valletta and the Gozo Football Associatio­n can be traced back a number of years,” said Mr Azzopardi, who added: “This year we have taken this collaborat­ion to a deeper level by supporting both the BOV GFA Leagues and the BOV GFA Cup. The fixtures for both competitio­ns are being drawn here today.”

The GFA president thanked Bank of Valletta for its continuous support to the sport of football in Gozo, saying: “We are keen to witness another season of competitiv­e football. During the transfer season, we have seen some important signings both in terms of local players and foreigners that promise to raise the level of the game.”

The opening fixtures are the following:

Ghajnsiele­m-Gharb R.; Oratory Y.Victoria H.; Xewkija T.-SK Victoria W.; Nadur Y.-Kercem A.

Qala S.-Sannat L.; Xaghra U.-St Lawrence S.; Munxar F.-Zebbug R.

Preliminar­y rd: St Lawrence S.-Qala S.; Munxar F.-Nadur Y.; Victoria H.-Kercem A.; Oratory Y.-Zebbug R.; Xaghra U.-Gharb R.; Sannat L.-Xewkija T.
