Dingli and Mosta also reach semifinals of pre-season tournament

-

Dingli Desana and champions Mosta Shaggy’s joined Marsa White Stars and Wardija in the semi finals of the tournament after beating Valletta St Pauli and Tal-Qroqq respectively.

With both teams short of some of their regular players, Desana dominated for long periods with Malcolm Licari giving a good performance and scoring four goals.

Valletta had some good moments, but they lost some good chances and were also denied by some good saves from goalkeeper Etiene Scicluna.

Champions Mosta Shaggy’s had to use all their experience to beat the strong team of TalQroqq. Two goals in the last 13 minutes saved the day for Mosta. It is true that they had some regulars missing, but their play was short of good collective moves. They struggled to find the net and there was Tal-Qroqq goalkeeper who denied them with some good saves. TAL-QROOQ surprised everybody with a very encouraging performance. They were in the lead at half time 5-4 and 7-6 with 13 minutes left and were unlucky to suffer two goals in a desperate effort by Mosta in the last minutes. Malta O/35 v.
