Easy victory for Hamrun

-

Hamrun had a very easy task to overcome the feeble challange offered by Fgura. They dominated proceedings from the very first whistle.

The Spartans were so dominat that their keeper Loran Schembri could have stayed at home because he only dealt with a few back-passes from his colleagues and only one shot from a free kick three minutes before the end.

The game was only two minutes old when Hamrun opened the score as Jerome Fiteni served Kieran Higgans with a long throw-in from the right flank in the area and he headed past Fgura keeper Chad Sehloho.

Between the 29th and 39th minutes Hamrun scored three goals. Jerome Fiteni floated a perfect high ball in the area from a free kick from the left flank and Miguel Tabone scored with a header. Portelli then entered the area and after dribbling past an opponent scored with a hard low shot and Gatt served Owen Cassar with a cross from the right flank and he netted with a low drive from inside the area.

The score became 5-0 in the 51st minute when substitute Yannick Sultana entered the area after dribbling an opponent and scored with a hard low drive. Hardly a minute later Xylon Portelli released Russell in the area and he scored with a hard low drive.

Goal No. 7 was scored in the 70th minute as Vella hit the base of the upright from inside the area and substitute Calvin Agius netted with a hard drive from the rebound. Three minutes before the end Fgura won a free kick outside the area and Schembri saved to corner the shot by Aiken Desira.
